Wendy George
As a counselor my approach to people is the belief that they have the strength to heal within themselves. Treating clients form this perspective gives them power to recognize their own dignity. It is an absolute honor to walk beside those who have the courage to heal and over come. My assistance along this journey is to help recognize the strengths within.
In my personal life I am passionate about family, Horses and Irish Wolfounds. I live in Torrington, Wyoming where I have a Private Practice Counseling Office.
Allison Werning
As a counselor, I enjoy providing compassionate, challenging and insightful support as I work with clients through a variety of challenges they may face. I understand that our past has influenced our present, but it need not determine our future. Our life experiences help build who we are today and can be effective tools in creating who we aspire to be tomorrow. I work with clients seeking support with many different topics including but not limited to: anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, and family counseling.
Personally, I live in Torrington with my husband, who is a farmer, and my two boys. We enjoy being out on the farm, playing with our two dogs, and spending time as a family.
Sarah McElroy, LPC
Please welcome the newest counselor to Wyoming Winds Counseling. We are pleased to have Sarah joining our team in January 2025.
Every day you do your best. This belief is at the core of my clinical practice. Every day I see you work, make small steps and try your hardest. As humans it is often easier to criticize our deficits rather than applaud our gains. Especially as a trauma survivor or mental health warrior, some days it may take you 100 times more energy to simply ‘try’. Through assessments and discussions, together we will build an ongoing supportive treatment plan that will help you build and congratulate yourself on a passionate pursuit of short-term goals.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing Colorado and Wyoming. I have 11 years of clinical experience. I specialize in treatment and diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder, addiction, grief, anxiety and depression. I have a wide variety of experience and training and look forward to working with ages 3 – 73. I enjoy my work with children and integrating modalities of art therapy and play therapy to help them communicate. I also have specialized training and experience in working with diagnosis such as autism spectrum disorder in youth along with adjustment disorder.
I am an advocate and cheerleader for my clients and their support system and want them to feel supported every step of their therapy journey.
